Pretty Maids all in a Row
Babes and more babes, Angie Dickinson
Rock Hudson, John David Carson
Directed by Roger Vadim
MGM 1970
Warner Archives 2010

Pretty Maids All in a Row is directed by Roger Vadim, based on a Gene Roddenberry story, and stars Telly Savalas (Kojak) as a detective and Rock Hudson as a lecherous guidance counselor.  The Pretty Maids All in a Row DVD is available exclusively and on demand from Warner Archive. This comedy is an odd and entertaining late sixties sex farce and murder mystery. The DVD jacket says remastered but the picture does have artefacts from time to time.

John David Carson plays Ponce de Leon Harper, a teenage boy with a very active libido. Considering girls in the late sixties dressed pretty much like teenage girls today you can understand his problems concentrating when he is at school. His football coach and guidance counselor (Rock Hudson) is usually busy bedding the student bodies but decides to help him by enrolling substitute teacher Angie Dickinson to help him relieve some stress.

Ponce finds a dead body in the boy s bathroom. Two years before he could become famous as Kojak Telly Savalas plays the detective investigating the murder.

Pretty Maids All in a Row is not a particularly memorable or important movie but it is fun. For those it bothers this sex comedy murder mystery features its share of nudity.

Look for James Doohan (Scotty) in a very minor role.

Pretty Maids All in a Row has no special features.
