Mildred Pierce is the multiple nominee and Emmy Award winning (Winslet and Pearce for acting) HBO miniseries. This five part miniseries is a very faithful adaptation of the James M. Cain novel. Those who like period pieces, stories about a woman’s struggle, and intrigue will very much enjoy Mildred Pierce even if the pacing is very slow.
Set in depression era America, Mildred Pierce is the story of a headstrong divorcee who unfortunately cannot stand up to Veda, her self-centered snobbish daughter. This almost costs her almost everything.
