This review was not influenced by the fact the glasses were sent to me free. Having bought glasses online before and being a bit curious by nature, I could not but give Firmoo.com a try when they offered a free pair in exchange for a review. What I ordered would have cost $28.00 for lenses and frames, an additional $26.00 for proressives without a line, and a few other minor options brought the bill to $68.00. Whatever you do, however, read the passage on PD here below.

You should also know these prices are variable as Firmoo has various offers for first-time buyers and online promotions and so on. A bit of legwork can bring the price down considerably.

Firmoo may not be the best known name for online eyeglasses right now but if they keep it up, they will be. Their product selection compares more than advantageously to clearlycontacts and the other possibilities out there.

Ordering is a breeze on a very user-friendly website. The glasses arrive within the promised amount of time and were as described. They come in a sturdy box and eyeglass case with cloth and miniature screwdriver. This is how everybody sends their eyeglasses

The quality is the same as what you get from the other online eyeglass outfits.

The one big difference is Firmoo has better prices overall.

The one and most important warning you must receive about ordering eyeglasses online is the PD or pupillary distance number. Make absolutely certain you have the exact number. If you are off by a smidge it makes the eyeglasses basically useless for you. PD is a number optoetrists are loathe to give out “to protect the customers” but because without it you have to pay their jacked up prices for what you can get online at Firmoo.

There is an Ipod app that allows you to measure PD and that is fairly reliable. Doing it yourself is a bit tricky so have somebody do it many times with you to make sure. If you screw it up you end up trying to adjust the branches and nosepiece yourself and this is how I,  after many manipulations, ended up breaking an otherwise good pair of eyeglasses.

I should have tried Firmoo's costumer service for help but the one thing about the glasses being free for review was I got stupid, lazy, and brave.

The one weak point with Firmoo is the company seems to be operating in Asia so English communications in emails is sometimes a bit wonky –there is also a typo on their website :Refund and Ruturn”.
