Crank.

Hi octane.

Adrenaline rush.

Edge of your seat.

Jason Statham is Chev Chelios. Chev is a professional assassin. Chev has been given something called the assassins cocktail. Chev is dying and the only thing which will keep him alive is adrenaline or epinephrine - there is no cure. This movie has been made before with a different premise (D.O.A. - 1950) but that does not make the story any less compelling. Unlike D.O.A. though in Crank Chev Chelios knows exactly who killed him and why he poisoned.

Statham is perfectly suited to this kind of a movie - Statham fans of the Transporter movies, Revolver and The Italian Job will be happy with the performance delivered by the man who could have been the new James Bond. There is not a lot of story here - mostly there is a lot of high speed chases, punch ups, brawls, running a little sex all delivered at a breathtaking pace.

Holes in the plot? Yep. Do you care? Nope. This is the perfect mindless, enjoyable time waster that guys like. You can leave the room to grab a beer and come back with complete confidence that you haven't missed anything of import. It is a back handed compliment but if you are into this kind of movie you will absolutely love Crank but if you don't like this kind of movie you better stay away because it is a perfect example of the genre.
