Dum, Dum, Da Da,Da - I am Iron Man. Thus spake Tony Stark as played to overstated excellence by the immensely talented Robert Downey Jr.
Iron Man falls into the same category of superhero as Batman. Tony Stark is fabulously rich and has no super powers of any kind other than a native creativity and passion for engineering. As with Batman, Iron Man is driven by dark forces. Tony Stark is an arms manufacturer of the first order selling the most destructive weapons know to man, invented by himself, to the governments of the world. During one of this sales events Tony finds himself kidnapped and brought face to face with the destruction he has helped bring to the world and it changes him forever.
Iron Man completely dominated the box office during the summer of 2008 and for good reason it has a great storyline, a strong script, great directing and superb acting. There isn’t much to complain about with this movie unless you are actively looking for things to complain about. If you just sit back and let it hit you between the eyes like the summer block buster it is then you will enjoy every last second of Iron Man.
