If you have a kid with ADD / ADHD, are living with this disorder, or just like a great, well-made, informative, and really fun to watch documentary, ADD & Loving It is a must. Host Patrick McKenna (The Red Green Show), who himself grew up with the disorder, takes a humorously serious look at ADD / ADHD shiny object, dispels quite a few myth, and generally makes the disorder much less of the life altering monster it is sometimes seen as. This excellent documentary airs Friday September 18th 2009 at 8 P.M. on Global TV as part of the Currents series.
How valid is this ADD ADHD documentary? It is hosted by and directed by someone with the disorder and some of the medical experts in the show have the disorder. How good is it? McKenna answers all of your basic questions and dispels many myths, and there are many of both, before the second commercial break.
One thing obvious about ADD & Loving It is it works hard to both show this is a serious disorder and that it is not something that will automatically ruin your life if you have it. That it does so with lots of personal testimony and just as much humor makes this point that much more valid.
Best is this documentary ends with a few uncomplicated and very possible solutions to manage life with this disorder.
