102 Minutes That Changed The World is not a pleasant experience though it is a very good historical document. This program, which airs Sunday September 13th 2009 at 10 P.M. on CBC Newsworld is a montage of mostly amateur video taken in New York City on September 11 2001.
This documentary is fascinating not only because it is about 9/11 but also because the producers made the wise decision of not including any narrative voice over or subtitles whatsoever. This means you get the full experience undiluted and uncolored by some talking head journalist or pseudo expert.
This also means you get the full entire experience full blast and that is not something pleasant.
Being a montage of various videos from various sources, 102 Minutes That Changed the World is a little bit hodge podge. Kudos however to the producers for managing to put this document together and maintaining not only a narrative thread but also picture quality throughout.
It is hard to recommend watching 102 Minutes That Changed The World but it is something you should do if you were not in front of the TV on 9/11.
