Mr. Bump Planes, Trains and Dillymobiles
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment 2010

This family DVD is a Mr. Men (think Little Miss Sunshine, Mr. Happy et al) showcase - with Mr. Bump starring in the first episode of the disc.  Mr. Bump Planes, Trains and Dillymobiles is, as the title suggests, a look into the world of transportation in Dillydale.  There are 6 episodes including Car Wash, Flying, Trains, Cars, Boats and Inventions.

This Mr. Bump DVD is a compilation of a few Mr. Men episodes (each about 11 minutes long) and each episode has many little vignettes in it.  In the car wash episode there are 5 or 6 different sketches about carwashes - how things can go wrong, and how you can use your imagination to go to a completely different world.  Each sketch has many different Mr. Men characters in it.

This is a fun little DVD.  There aren't many lessons to be learned here - except to be careful if ever you work at a carwash - but it is funny.  Although it is geared toward the younger set (think ages 3-7) my 4 kids, ranging in age from 5-11, all found something to enjoy in this family DVD.  My youngest found the characters silly and fun, and the older kids liked the variety of characters involved in each episode.  They really "got into" naming each other in the days after watching the shows (Mr. Bump was an especially common name in our house).  As a mom I liked the bright colours and, like the older kids, the many characters we get to see on Mr. Bump Planes, Trains and Dillymobiles.

The special features section was a little short - especially the find Mr. Bump game (one time and the game is over), but there were some funny things in there that made the kids laugh - in particular meet Mr. Bump.

There was lots of slapstick in this DVD, and the kids liked the silly humour.  I'd say thumbs up for the simple fact that it made the kids laugh.
